Description
- 🇦🇹 𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗞: The Schüttelbrot from Tiroler Bauernstandl is extremely spicy and tastes of its typical spices such as fennel and caraway. The bread is baked with South Tyrolean bread clover, making it an original. Tiroler Bauernstandl Schüttelbrot is thinner and crispier but more brittle. Due to the high proportion of rye flour (95%), the Schüttelbrot has a longer shelf life.

- 🇦🇹 𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗧𝗘: All South Tyrolean farms baked bread two to three times a year. The three basic forms of daily sourdough homemade bread in South Tyrol were: the flatbread-like Sudtirol Schüttelbrot, the Vinschgerl made from two dough patties, and the round Breatl with aniseed, caraway and fennel all have one thing in common: they are all suitable for baking as hard bread for storage.
- 🇦🇹 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗚: Schüttelbrot is a flatbread made from rye flour with water, yeast, salt and spices. The dough made from natural ingredients is loosened by shaking by hand before baking and formed into thin flatbreads. The breads are then baked in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes at full heat. After baking, it quickly hardens and can be kept for a long time without spoiling.
